By opening and expressing through our voice, we experience sound deep inside our bodies. As the vibration travels through our cells, blood, bones, and tissue, we connect to life force, flowing through our being. - Makenzie Myers, TantricVoice.com
There are certain songs that vibrate to my core when I hear to them. They stay with me, and I find myself humming them when I'm daydreaming. I like to call these songs "pocket songs", because they land in my pocket and they are there for me when I need them.
"Breathe Me In" is already living in my pocket, and I've only been listening to Makenzie Myers' music video for a few days. I am in love with her voice -- the way it melts the air between my speaker and my ear is pure magic.
Makenzie Myers - "Breathe Me In"
I had the pleasure to meet Makenzie last month at the Heartbeat of the Mother Drum Making workshop with Mila Redwood in Chico, California. Listening to her sing, I could feel the gentle power of her voice as an invitation to be soft and open in my body. I could sit around the fire all night with her singing (which, is just another reason to go to Singing Alive!).
Makenzie offers CacaoSong, a singing Cacao Ceremony. To learn about upcoming ceremonies and her other voice offerings, visit her at TantricVoice.com.
